LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — With just one game left to play in 2013, the Washington Redskins 2014 schedule is coming into focus.
Next season, Washington is scheduled to play the NFC North and NFC South teams that finish identically in their division as the Redskins.
Because the Redskins have secured a last place finish in the NFC East for the third time in four seasons under Mike Shanahan, they can pencil in a return trip to face the Minnesota Vikings next year.
Washington fell to the NFC North basement dwelling Vikings 37-24 in a Thursday night game earlier this year.
The game will also mark the third consecutive year the two teams have met during the regular season.
The Redskins NFC South opponent, whom they will face at home, is still undecided. Washington will either face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-11) or Atlanta Falcons (4-10). Atlanta faces the San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football.
The remainder of the Redskins 2014 schedule, based on the NFL’s scheduling formula, is as follows:
Home: Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, New York Giants, St. Louis Rams, Seattle Seahawks, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans, NFC South (TBD)
Away: Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, New York Giants, Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers, Indianapolis Colts, Houston Texans, Minnesota Vikings
