LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — A man wearing a grayish Santa Claus-style beard robbed a bank in Laurel on Saturday, police say.

The fake Saint Nick walked into the PNC Bank at 390 Main Street around 9 a.m. Saturday, fired a shot into the air and stole cash from the tellers, according to police.

He took off in a maroon-colored sedan with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to police.

No one was injured in the robbery.

The suspect is described as a black man about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a medium build, a Santa-like beard, and armed with a pistol.

Laurel Police say PNC is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in this case.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Laurel Police Department’s tip line at 301-498-7645, or the department’s non-emergency line at 301-498-0092.
