LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — Howard County Police say nine people were arrested during a DUI sobriety checkpoint overnight Saturday.
Authorities say seven drivers were charged with driving under the influence of alcohol — two of which were also charged with a drug violation and for driving without a license.
An eighth arrest was for a drug violation, and the ninth was arrested for driving without a license.
The checkpoint was set up on westbound Route 40 and Governors Run Way in Ellicott City, Md.
Police say a total of 950 vehicles passed through the checkpoint.
The checkpoint also included officers from Maryland State Police and representatives from Mothers Against Drunk Driving, according to police.
