WASHINGTON (CBSDC) - The Redskins officially announced rookie tight end Jordan Reed will be placed on season-ending injured reserve on Thursday.
Mike Shanahan said Reed will miss the final two games after a specialist recommended Reed not practice the next three weeks.
Reed, who last played Week 11 against the Eagles, caught 45 passes for 499 yards and three touchdowns, in eight games in 2013; enough to keep backup Fred Davis off the field for most of the season.
FoxSports reported similar news one week ago, which the team and Shanahan later refuted, saying a decision had yet to be made.
