Fool me once, shame on you. Hire the old ball coach twice and well… yeah.
As the conversation continues about Mike Shanahan’s future in Ashburn, a caller to “The Holden and Danny Show” on 106.7 The Fan thought he had the perfect solution to the Washington Redskins coaching woes.
“That coach from South Carolina,” he suggested.
Seriously. Carter in Maryland suggested Steve Spurrier.
And why not?
“I don’t think Baylor’s coach would be the perfect fit, but I do think a college coach would come in and change the atmosphere,” Carter said. “Pete Carroll in Seattle and then you’ve got Chip Kelly… they’re more active with the players. I think Dan Snyder goes for old (coaches).”
So out with the old and in with the new. And by new, Carter means Spurrier.
Yes, the same Spurrier who went 12-20 in two seasons as the Redskins coach a decade ago. He is the right man, right now to right the good ship Redskin. Right?
Carter was perilously close to facing a lifetime of ridicule before he changed his tune and realized the error of his ways.
