Man Pulled From Centennial Lake Identified

LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — The man whose body was pulled Centennial Lake in Ellicott City Sunday has been identified as 60-year-old Douglas Robert Morin.
Morin was from Elkridge, Howard County police say.
Authorities received a call around 9 a.m. Sunday from a person at Centennial Park who reported that he had discovered a body in the lake.
When they arrived on the scene, it appeared to investigators that there was no indication of foul play and that the man had slipped on ice near the edge of the lake, fell into the water and drowned.
Morin was not wearing any identification on him when he was found.
A missing person’s report was put out by the man’s family advising police that they had not seen or heard from him since early morning.
Centennial Park was closed Sunday as police investigated the park grounds for Morin’s vehicle.Using a vehicle description, authorities searched the areas surrounding the outside of the park and located his car on Ten Mills Road.
Through further investigation, police confirmed the deceased man was Morin. His body has been transported to the office of the medical examiner for an autopsy.
