WASHINGTON (CBSDC) – Perhaps the Redskins are just in the holiday spirit, and offering a deal on merchandise through Living Social has nothing to do with the team’s 3-10 record, or the benching of Robert Griffin III by a head coach hellbent on salvaging the remaining $7 million on his contract sooner, rather than later.
Whatever the reason, and however awkward the timing, the Living Social deal offers $30 of Redskins’ gear for $15.
Prominently featured atop the deal is the jersey of face-of-the franchise: inactive Redskins’ quarterback RGIII.
Again, the timing probably has everything to do with Christmas being just 13 days out, and nothing to do with Mike Shanahan holding a press conference less than a day ago to explain why he was benching Griffin, in favor of Kirk Cousins, who was taken in the same draft as Griffin, but not with the intention of creating a quarterback controversy down the line.
The deal becomes inactive after today.
Get it while it lasts.
