Reed, Young, Meriweather Out For Redskins

by Chuck Carroll

LANDOVER, Md. (CBSDC) — The Washington Redskins are again without top tight end Jordan Reed as he recovers from concussion suffered against the Philadelphia Eagles on Nov. 17. The rookie threat was expected to play last week against the New York Giants, but was downgraded to out after suffering a headache prior to kickoff.

Reed’s absence again opens the door for Fred Davis, who was inactive for a large chunk of the season, to play Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Also inactive is fullback Darrel Young who is slow to recover from a hamstring injury. The returning Niles Paul should start in his place.

Starting safety Brandon Meriweather is also out with a chest contusion.

Full Inactives: QB Rex Grossman, CB Chase Minnifield, S Brandon Meriweather, FB Darrel Young, LB Brandon Jenkins, OL Josh LeRibeus, TE Jordan Reed.
