WASHINGTON (CBS DC) – Pentagon police nabbed an individual trying to bring nearly an ounce of marijuana into the nation’s military headquarters, reports Foreign Policy.
The unnamed Army civilian was entering the building to go to work, says the Pentagon Force Protection Agency.
The discovery was made on November 19th, when screeners conducted what officials call a routine “enhanced” security check.
Possession of marijuana is prohibited at the Pentagon.
Anyone bringing illegal items into the building can be fined $1,000 and have the items confiscated.
An official also tells Foreign Policy the same screening netted four “prohibited” knives, pepper spray and “drug paraphernalia.”
It’s unclear if any criminal charges have been filed against the individual.
