WASHINGTON (CBS DC) — President Barack Obama has high praise for potential 2016 contenders Vice President Joe Biden and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

“I think Joe Biden will go down in history as one of the best vice presidents ever, and he has been with me, at my side, in every tough decision that I’ve made,” Obama told MSNBC in an interview Thursday held at American University. “Hillary, I think, will go down in history as one of the finest secretaries of state we’ve ever had, and helped to transition us away from a deep hole that we were in, when I first came into office, around the world, and rebuilt confidence and trust in the United States.”

Obama didn’t bite, though, on who would make a better president.

“Not a chance I’m going there,” Obama said, adding, “Both Hillary and Joe would make outstanding presidents, and possess the qualities that are needed to be outstanding presidents.”

The president also delved into health care during the interview, telling the college students in attendance why it is important for young Americans to sign up for Obamacare.

“This gives you the opportunity to get high-quality health insurance and for most people under 30, it’s probably going to cost you less than your cell phone bill or your cable bill – less than a hundred bucks,” Obama said.

Obama also stated that it is in “their financial interest and their health interest” to get ongoing preventative care and free contraception.
