WASHINGTON — Separate water main breaks are causing flooded roadways in northeast Washington and Montgomery County.
Both incidents are occurring Monday ahead of the morning rush hour.
District of Columbia police are reporting closures in the area of Benning and Bladensburg roads in northeast because of a 12-inch water main break there. Water is shut off in the area and crews are working to fix the problems, but road closures could continue into the late morning.
The other problem is at Gold Kettle Drive in Gaithersburg, just off Muddy Branch Road and School Drive near Fields Elementary School. One block is closed and nearly 50 people are without water, and crews say it should take until late morning to fix the break.
