ASHBURN, Va. (CBSDC) — Jordan Reed is expected to return Sunday when the Washington Redskins host the New York Giants in their final primetime game of the season.
Reed, who was limited in Thursday’s practice, was sidelined for the embarrassing loss to the San Francisco 49ers after suffering a concussion a week earlier against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Head coach Mike Shanahan said Thursday he anticipates the rookie tight end will play provided he continues to pass league mandated concussion tests.
“I feel great,” Reed said, “perfectly normal.”
He told reporters the concussion was the third he’s suffered since he began playing football, though he was only bothered by it a “little bit” during the week. Reed also spoke with more certainty regarding his status for Sunday night.
“I’m definitely going for sure,” he said.
