WASHINGTON (CBSDC) — A 22-year-old college student says she was beaten and raped by a D.C. Parks and Recreation employee at a community pool early Tuesday morning.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police Department confirms an investigation is being conducted into an allegation of sexual assault at the pool.

The victim’s uncle tells NBC4 his niece went to the Wilson Aquatic Center in Northwest after hours with two men, one of whom works at the pool and had keys to get in. The uncle says once inside, the men “may have drugged her, then beat and raped her.”

The men then allegedly drove the victim back to her home in Prince William County, Va.

The woman is currently in a northern Virginia hospital.

A DPR spokesperson confirmed police are investigating an incident at the pool, but would not comment further.

Several police cars were parked in front of the popular location all day Tuesday as officers and detectives investigated the claims.

The pool remained open but both the men’s and women’s locker rooms have been closed.
