Larry Michaels: I Represent Everything ‘Wrong with the Dan Snyder Era’
WASHINGTON (CBSDC) - The Redskins’ 27-6 loss to the 49ers brought them their third consecutive defeat, and one step closer to not returning to the playoffs in 2013.
But it also brought another Larry Michaels Highlight Show, which is always a reason to smile, as you listen to the longtime voice take a blowtorch to the notion of unbiased coverage, and sweep useless nonsense like facts and history under the rug of the forgotten, all in the name of making everything just a little more tolerable.
While the information may be intentionally misleading, sometimes even factually incorrect, it is the best broadcast there is, because that’s what you’re told, it’s all you’ve heard, and you don’t know any better.
What’s the best way to work a little positive air into a rapidly deflating balloon?
Just lie to it, basically.
Michaels: Redskins are 7-7 here: 3-7 since Sept. 9 and 4-0 in the preseason.
Michaels: We’ve got some time before kickoff. I’ve gotta address something. I know the FM radio station, you know the one you can hear? There’s some guy over there doing parodies of our broadcasts, where this incredible talent who’s also handsome, impersonates all of us.
Michaels: Now they say imitation is the highest form of flattery, well I know for a fact that’s not the case here. I happen to know that he thinks I’m a backstabbing prick that no one likes. He knows that no one enjoys working with me and that people dread when I come into a room, and that I’m an insufferable kiss-ass, whose career got made when I tricked the owner into letting me fire a guy I pretended to be friends with. Just so we’re clear, he’s not a fan of me and thinks I represent everything that is wrong with the Dan Snyder era.
