LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — A puppy that was purchased with a stolen credit card in August has been recovered by Montgomery County police.
Two people, 39-year-old Michael Pulliam of Annapolis and 29-year-old Jennifer Camardi of an unconfirmed address have both been charged with conspiracy to commit theft, conspiracy to steal a credit card and conspiracy to commit fraud via identity theft
Last month, police issued a press release with video surveillance of the suspects and asked for the public’s help in identifying them. Detectives received numerous anonymous tips that lead to their identification.
On Nov. 13, detectives applied for and received an arrest warrant for Puliam, who was arrested in College Park later that day. Camardi was charged via a district court summons.
On Tuesday, Camardi turned the puppy in to authorities.
Police say the yorkie terrier will be returned to the Rockville store where it was purchased, “Just Puppies” on Veirs Mill Road.
Jeanea Tobiasz, a manager at the store, says “Isabella” was about two months old when purchased, which would make her about five months old now.
When she arrives back at the store she will be quarantined and observed, and seen by a vet.
“If everything goes well during the observation time, I don’t think we’re going to have a problem finding a home for her,” Tobiasz says.
