Woman Dies of Injuries From Oct. 24 House Fire

BALTIMORE — Officials say a woman has died of injuries sustained in a house fire in October.

The Fire Department said Friday that 66-year-old Louise Helmick died Nov. 7 at the burn center at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. She had been taken there suffering from second-degree burns and smoke inhalation in a fire on Oct. 24 in her home in Baltimore.

Officials say the early morning fire broke out in the row house in the Pigtown neighborhood. Helmick and another occupant were rescued from the fire.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
