D.C. Man Sentenced for Fatally Stabbing Mother
WASHINGTON — A man has been sentenced to 29 years in prison for fatally stabbing his mother in their apartment.
Twenty-seven-year-old Christopher Martin was convicted in June of second-degree murder while armed in the death of his mother, 58-year-old Patricia Ann Martin. He was sentenced Friday in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.
Police found Patricia Martin’s body in May 2010 after Christopher Martin’s brother escaped through a second-floor window and told neighbor that his mother was dead. Prosecutors say Patricia Martin’s body was in an advanced state of decomposition.
