LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) —’s top ranked college football prospect, a senior at Woodbridge High School, announced today that he plans to attend the University of Alabama.

Da’Shawn Hand, the 6-foot-4, 245-pound defensive end, had narrowed down his choices for next year to the Crimson Tide, the University of Michigan Wolverines and the University of Florida Gators.

Hand, flanked by his parents and joined in his high school gym by his teammates, the marching band and the rest of the student body, beamed as he stood up and donned a Alabama ball cap. says Hand received more than 90 Football Bowl Subdivision offers, was a 2012 USA Today High School Football All-American and was High School Football Junior of the Year last year.
