Two People Stabbed Outside Montgomery Mall in Bethesda

BETHESDA, Md. (CBSDC/AP) — Two people were stabbed in a parking lot outside Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda on Thursday afternoon, police say.

Montgomery County Police said it started just after 2 p.m. Thursday after one vehicle nearly hit another at a stop sign and both drivers got out of their vehicles in the mall parking lot.

That’s when police say 24-year-old David Goldberg, of Potomac, stabbed the other driver, a 31-year-old man, and his passenger, a 28-year-old woman, then fled. Both were taken to a hospital and police say the woman had serious injuries and the man had injuries that aren’t thought to be life-threatening.

Police found Goldberg on a nearby parking deck with his 2-year-old daughter in the vehicle. He is charged with two counts each of attempted first-degree murder and first- and second-degree assault.
