VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (CBSDC/AP) — Crews in Virginia Beach have rescued a worker who was left dangling from his safety rope more than 100 feet in the air along a water tower.
Media outlets report the worker wasn’t injured Monday.
Virginia Beach fire spokeswoman Amy Valdez says the man’s ladder slipped from beneath him while he was working on the tower. He was left clinging to his rope for nearly 45 minutes.
A firefighter was lowered down to the worker, who was then transferred to the firefighter’s rope. Both were then lowered down to the bucket of a ladder truck.
