Man Dies in 2-Alarm Fire in Alexandria

LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — A man died in a two-alarm fire that destroyed a townhouse on Deer Run Court in Alexandria early Thursday morning.

The Fairfax County Fire Department says the home is a complete loss after it was fully engulfed by flames and the ceilings and roof caved in.

The blaze, which took more than 50 fire personnel an hour to bring under control, happened around 4 a.m.

The name of the deceased is being withheld until notification of kin. The medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
