Navy Blimp to Resume Tests Over Baltimore

BALTIMORE — A U.S. Navy blimp seen hovering over the Baltimore region earlier this year will return.

WMAR-TV reports that the 178-foot, white blimp will fly over Maryland from Nov. 12 to Nov. 25. It will conduct testing of experimental avionics systems.

The blimp is the Navy’s only unmanned airship. It will be based in Frederick and will fly near Beltsville and Baltimore.
