DDOT Using ‘Hall of Shame’ to Discourage Parking in Bike Lanes

LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — With 56 miles of bike lanes throughout the District of Columbia, motorists are bound to be tempted to park in them once in awhile.

But the District Department of Transportation is warning people, via Twitter, that it’s not a good idea.

On Monday, DDOT started a campaign that involves posting photos of cars parked in bike lanes that have been ticketed.

In one tweet, it said a car was the latest inductee into the “Hall of Shame.”

The license plates of all the vehicles have been blurred, however.

Check out some of the ‘Hall of Shame’ entries below.
