WASHINGTON (CBSDC) - Washington Nationals owner and real estate mogul Ted Lerner in the richest person in the entire state of Maryland, according to a study from Wealth-X.
With a net worth valued at $4.1 billion, Lerner ranked 27th among other state’s leaders.
The study, which focused on determining the top 50 wealthiest Americans on a state-by-state basis – based on their business addresses – revealed the average net worth of those who made the list to be $10.8 billion, a cumulative worth of $540 billion; figures which should make you feel good about your own financial affairs.
The study assessed asset holdings, including both publicly and privately held businesses, as well as investible assets to determine each person’s total net worth.
Wealth-X, a company bearing the slogan, “Connecting You To Wealth,” also provides other studies and stories that will make you feel among the elite, such as “Who Will Emerge As The World’s First US$100 Billionaire?” and “The Ultra Wealthy Sink Their Money Into Submarines.”
Other persons with sports ties to crack the list include: New Orleans Saints owner Tom Benson ($1.3B), Miami Heat owner Micky Arison ($5.9B), and Co-founder of Nike, Phil Knight ($14.7B).
