WASHINGTON (CBSDC) — Sen. Tom Coburn didn’t mince words about his feelings for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

According to the New York Daily News, Coburn called Reid an “absolute a*******” during an event at the New York Young Republican Club Monday.

“There’s no comity with Harry Reid. I think he’s an absolute a******,” Coburn reportedly said.

Coburn did admit, though, that there are Senate Democrats he does get along with.

“I have great relationships with Chuck Schumer,” he said, according to the Daily News. “I don’t say that in Oklahoma.”

Reid’s office fired back at Coburn in a statement for Politico.

“Nothing says ‘comity’ like childish playground name-calling, especially from a senator who has not sponsored a single piece of successful bipartisan legislation during his entire Senate career,” spokesperson Adam Jentleson told Politico.
