WASHINGTON (CBSDC) – Two Generations Radio pastors are urging people throughout the United States to avoid purchasing the signature cookies sold by the Girl Scouts of America, due in part to the organization’s support of the LGBT community.

Dave Buehner and Kevin Swanson implored their listeners to stop buying cookies from Girl Scouts, adding that anyone who does should “take a big, fat, black magic marker … [and] start marking out all of the references to the Girl Scouts of America on all the boxes,” Right Wing Watch is reporting.

On a recording of the show obtained by the website, Swanson appeared to be especially vocal about his disdain for the organization.

“I don’t want to support lesbianism, I don’t want to support Planned Parenthood and I don’t want to support abortion, and if that be the case I’m not buying Girl Scout cookies,” he was quoted as saying. “I don’t want to promote a wicked organization that according to its own website doesn’t promote godly womanhood. … The vision of the Girl Scouts of America is antithetical to a biblical vision for womanhood, it’s antithetical to it.”

He additionally referred to the cookies as “food offered to idols.”

Buehner agreed, Right Wing Watch reported, while stating that the practice of having young girls sell the cookies reinforces the positive elements of “a woman who is going to compete with men in the marketplace,” something he considered a negative attribute to the cookie-selling program that could one day potentially lead to the election of a “communist in the White House.”

According to the official website for the Girl Scouts of America, the program is indeed designed to “build … a life time of skills and confidence” as well as raise money for the organization.

“By putting her mind and energies to something, a Girl Scout can overcome any challenge,” the site additionally states. “There are no limits. She can be anything. She can do anything.”
