RESTON, Va. — Police say a northern Virginia man is facing a weapon charge in connection with a shooting that seriously wounded a Reston teenager.
Reston police say a 17-year-old boy is being treated in a hospital with life-threatening injuries after being shot Friday morning.
Police say they’ve arrested an acquaintance of the teenager, 26-year-old Javier DeJesus Martinez, and charged him with illegal firearm possession.
No phone number for Martinez could immediately be found. It wasn’t immediately clear if he had a lawyer.
Police say they’re trying to determine whether the shooting was accidental or intentional.
