LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) – Four Van Gogh Commemorative SmarTrip cards will be available for Metro riders by the end of October.

The limited-edition cards celebrate the Van Gogh Repetitions exhibit at The Phillips Collection through January 2014.

The cards feature four prominent images by Van Gogh: The Bedroom at Arles, The Road Menders, Madame Roulin Rocking the Cradle and The Postman Joseph Roulin.

Each reusable plastic card comes pre-loaded with $8 in stored fare value for a total price of $10. The cards are available for pre-order online and will be available for purchase in all Metrorail station dispensers by the end of October.

“Partnering with Metro to produce these special fare cards seemed like the perfect way [to] celebrate the exhibition’s success—by putting a little bit of van Gogh’s magic into the hands of those who live, work and play in the District,” Sarah Schaffer, director of marketing and communications for The Phillips Collection, told Metro.
