WASHINGTON (CBSDC) — Fourteen people have been transported to local hospitals after a Metrobus traveling northbound on North Capitol Street in D.C. struck a car going eastbound on Rhode Island Avenue.

Metro officials say the car ran a red light and that all injuries are non-life threatening. A bus passenger tells WNEW Senior Correspondent Mark Segraves that the bus was trying to make it through the intersection as the light turned from yellow to red.

Segraves also reports that 14 victims have been transported to local hospitals. Thirteen of those are bus passengers, one is the driver of the car.
