LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — A teen has been charged as an adult after police seized 45 guns and a “large quantity of marijuana” from his Gaithersburg home, authorities say.

Montgomery County Police say an investigation into photos of drugs and guns posted on a social media site led to the arrest of six people, including 16-year-old Ethan Gettier.

Detectives from the firearms investigation unit and a Quince Orchard High School resource officer launched an investigation after the photos circulated online, police say.

Gettier was arrested Friday, Oct. 11, after police searched his home on Triple Crown Road. He was charged with possession of a firearm by a minor, marijuana possession, drug paraphernalia possession, possession with intent to distribute controlled dangerous substance and possession of a firearm in a drug trafficking crime.

The teen’s father, Darel Gettier, 63, was charged with allowing a minor access to a handgun, keeping a disorderly house and maintaining a common nuisance to administer controlled dangerous substance.

Two Germantown teens were charged with dealing drugs in connection with the investigation. A “large quantity of marijuana” was also found in the home of Anand M. Javeri, 18, and Khaliq R. Thomas, 18 in the 18400 block of Cottage Garden Drive.

Police said criminal citations for possession of marijuana were issued for two others, Devon Rubenstein, 18, of Germantown, and Connor Fellows, 20, of Gaithersburg.
