House Stenographer Escorted Off Floor While Ranting About Constitution

LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — Last night, as the House of Representatives were voting to end the 16-day government shutdown, things were briefly interrupted after a stenographer started to rant on the dais.

Dianne Reidy was dragged off the House floor by security while continuing her tirade about Freemasons and the Constitution, according to CBS News.

The U.S. Capitol Police told CBS News that she was transported to a local hospital to be evaluated after she was removed from the floor.

“He will not be mocked!” she yelled. “The greatest deception here is this is not ‘one nation under God,’ it never was! Had it been, it would not have been — it would not have been, the Constitution would not have been written by Free Masons! They go against God, you cannot serve two masters!”

She continued to rant as she was escorted from the room.

CBS News reports that lawmakers said Reidy was yelling about the devil. Texas Rep. Joaquin Castro (D) said she had a crazed look on her face.
