2 Dead in Single-Car Crash In Franconia

LANHAN, Md. (CBSDC) — Two people died in a single-car accident in Franconia shortly after 3 a.m. Sunday.

The driver, 21-year-old Devin Austin of Triangle, Va., was traveling northbound on Van Dorn Street, near Vine Street, when his 1995 Lexus ES300 left the roadway and struck a concrete bridge pillar.

Austin and the front passenger, 23-year-old Aminata Sesay of Alexandria, died at the scene. The 20-year-old rear passenger was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Preliminary investigation indicates that speed may have been a factor in the crash. It is still undetermined if alcohol is a factor.
