SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney says he’s finished with trying to run for president.

Romney made the comments while addressing students at the University of Utah’s business school Wednesday.

The former Massachusetts governor and two-time presidential candidate joked that his wife Ann or son Josh, a Utah resident, would be good candidates in the next election.

During his speech, Romney spoke about the federal debt, immigration reform and global warming.

The Salt Lake Tribune reported the former candidate also spoke about his campaign, saying it was an amazing experience but he failed to court Latino voters as well as President Barack Obama did.

Romney also spoke to reporters Wednesday about the partial government shutdown in Washington, D.C., saying it was not a tactic he would take to fight the federal health overhaul.
