EDINBURG, Va. — An Edinburg teenager accused of planning a threat against a high school has been arrested on a terrorism charge.

The Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office says in a news release that the 17-year-old male is in custody at the Northwestern Regional Juvenile Detention Center.

Police arrested the teen on Friday after the school resources officer at Stonewall Jackson High School in Quicksburg received information about a threat to the school. Police say the threat was planned to occur in the spring of 2014. Details weren’t provided.

The teen is a student at the school. He is charged with one count of committing, conspiring and aiding and abetting acts of terrorism.
