FAIRFAX, Va. — Fairfax County police say a baby has died after being delivered prematurely in the aftermath of a head-on crash early Sunday on the Fairfax County Parkway.
The baby, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead Sunday night and is the crash’s second fatality.
Police say 44-year-old Abraham Aragon of Manassas was driving the wrong way on the parkway about 1:40 a.m. Sunday. His 1993 Mazda struck a 2002 Toyota Avalon head-on.
Aragon was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 30-year-old Camp Hill, Pa., man was driving the Toyota, and his pregnant 29-year-old wife was the passenger. The two suffered injuries that were not life-threatening, but forced her to give birth early.
Police are investigating whether alcohol was a factor in the crash.
