FAIRFAX, Va. — Authorities say two teenagers were driving in a stolen car when they crashed it after a police chase in Fairfax.

The Washington Post reports the teens were traveling at more than 100 miles per hour as police chased their stolen Honda Accord.

Virginia State Police say the chase began in Fairfax when a trooper noticed the car driving erratically early Saturday morning. When the trooper tried to stop the vehicle, the driver sped off. Police say the Honda then ran a red light and struck a Toyota Camry. The crash killed 14-year-old Marquette Bell of Washington, the stolen vehicle’s passenger.

The driver of the car fled but was apprehended and charged with involuntary manslaughter and other offenses. The driver of the other car was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
