WASHINGTON (CBSDC) – Moments after the Redskins lost to the Lions 27-20 on Sunday, Fred Smoot and Bill Rohland were hosting a post-game show on 106.7 The Fan, and a few moments after that, an incredulous Redskins fan called in to accuse the station’s hosts of being paid by Dan Snyder.

Now, what’s funny about this, and obvious to most who frequent sports talk on the radio dial in Washington, D.C. is, along with the Redskins, Snyder owns Red Zebra Broadcasting, the direct competitor of The Fan.

But this guy was going to get his point across, logic and legally binding documents be damned.

“Hey guys, how’s it going this afternoon?” the aptly named Danny called in. “Look man, I want to tell you something. I knew after last week that they were gonna lose to the Lions, and I’m a Redskins fan.”

Good start.

“The bottom line is this guys…” long pause from the caller. “All of the, all, all, all of the Danny Snyder-controlled sports announcers that work on your station…”

“Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa!” Rohland screamed over him. “No, Danny! Danny! You got the wrong, Danny! Danny! You got the wrong station! You got the wrong station!”

“Hear me out,” Danny insisted. “Lavar and Dukes were saying that if Shanahan had benched, Lavar uhhh … Robert Griffin,  he’d be fired. That tells me that Danny is no … uhh, is is is is not allowing the coach to do his job. Shanahan did not want to start him in week one. He’s not READY.”

“Danny, I got to let you go cuz that, it makes absolutely no sense to say that whatever their opinion is has nothing to do with Dan Snyder,” Rohland squashed it like a champ.

This whole thing either makes a lot of sense, or none at all.
