WASHINGTON (CBSDC) – As first reported by the Washington City Paper, an Arlington resident bound for New York has forever memorialized his hometown on his body by tattooing D.C.’s Metro map onto his arm.
David Covucci, who, a little over a week ago, tweeted a photo of the tattoo (below) signaling his eternal love for WMATA, has taken an editing job in New York City with popular ‘bro blog’ Brobible.com, according to WCP.
Covucci himself has acknowledged this, writing in his personal blog Meeting Girls on Metro, “I’m about to go work the first job I’ve ever been excited for. In the field I’m supposed to be in, 30 years into my life.”
As a now former daily Metro rider, Covucci called the tattoo a reminder of where he got his start, WCP says.
In a recent blog post, he described, prior to leaving his office job in D.C., bouts of unhappiness stemming from the frustration of not feeling his career was heading in the right direction.
“The whole time refusing to even acknowledge that I was climbing the painful, incrementally small steps of a ladder along the wall. Steps spaced so close together it never feels like progress,” Covucci wrote. “Don’t ever fall for that illusion like I did. Don’t ever let yourself believe that when you are trying, it doesn’t matter.”
When looking at the tattoo, you may notice something’s missing.
The Silver Line.
Asked by WCP about the missing line scheduled to launch in Jan. 2014, Covucci responded, “no one gives a [expletive] about the Silver Line, no one’s going to ride it.”
