UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (CBSDC/AP) — A Prince George’s County teenager who was going to be a witness in a murder case was fatally shot inside his home, and detectives are investigating whether he was targeted because of his expected testimony.
Nineteen-year-old Kquantae Fisher was found dead in his home, located in the 6100 block of Kildare Court in Fort Washington, Wednesday morning. The murder does not appear to be random according to police.
Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Angela Alsobrooks says officials learned in March of a credible threat against Fisher but that he and his family declined witness protection services.
Fisher was one of two teens initially charged with killing 16-year-old Marcus Antonio Jones, but prosecutors dropped the charges after determining he was not involved. Fisher was expected to testify against the alleged gunman, Akil Ings.
Prince George’s Police Chief Mark Magaw says police are investigating all possible motives in Fisher’s killing.
