Pierre Garçon ‘Wasn’t Trying to Diss’ RGIII
More from 106.7 the Fan
WASHINGTON (CBSDC) - Pierre Garçon doesn’t quite understand how comments he made Wednesday that RGIII isn’t as fast as he used to be were spun out of control, but he did bring finality to a lingering debate over who would win a race between the two Redskins.
“Robert obviously can’t run as fast as he did last year because of his knee brace and his knee,” Garcon told ESPN Radio on Wednesday.
Garcon set the record straight in an interview with Holden and Danny on 106.7 The Fan on Thursday, when he was asked if he had to clear the air with Griffin, after the fact.
“No, there was nothing to clear the air about,” Garcon said.
I don’t know what I said exactly, but I didn’t say nothing about him like bad,” Garcon said on 106.7 The Fan. “RGIII is a great person, a great guy. We’re all competing. We’ve all been through injuries. We’ve all played hurt.”
“So it’s not anything that…” Garcon trailed off. “I don’t remember what I said but I wasn’t trying to diss him. I wasn’t dissing him or anything.”
Garcon dispelled any rumors that the two would be having any friendly races any time soon, instead saying that he’ll just race the defenders for now.
“I’m not even thinking about that,” he concluded.
