WASHINGTON (CBSDC) – Thursday brought the exciting news that former Junkies executive producer Bret Oliverio will expand the Sup Dogs brand to Chapel Hill, North Carolina, the home of University of North Carolina.
The news of the second location opening in Chapel Sill comes only days after the launch of a new Sup Dogs website, so it would appear Mr. Breast Milk Meaty Thighs has found his calling in the food biz.
Not to make this about me, but when I was given the opportunity to write for the Junkies – an “enterprise” role they called it, which is code for “we couldn’t figure out what to do with you” – along with it came a certain freedom to pick and choose which stories fit the Junks and 106.7 The Fan audience.
To me, there’s nothing more inspiring than seeing someone succeed beyond the station, especially considering the unfortunate circumstances under which Bret left, and this serves as the perfect illustration of the rich eye for talent Chris Kinard and those four donks from P.G. County have.
I’d be remiss not to speak up for the entire Junkies family – which extends to their vast and loyal listener base – by saying that we’re all extremely proud to see Bret Michaels find such happiness in North Carolina, and wish continued success to he and his wife Jenny, as well as good fortune as they embark on expanding their Sup brand.
Fell free to pass along well-wishes to Bret on Twitter. Like he said in a recent call-in to the show, “Do you know how hard it is to gain followers without a radio show?”
