WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama has signed a disaster declaration and ordered federal aid for flood ravaged Colorado.
The White House said in a statement Saturday night that the action makes federal funding available to affected individuals in Boulder County.
The statement says that the president declared a major disaster exists and ordered the aid to supplement state and local recovery efforts.
The aid can include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses, and other programs to help individuals and business owners recover.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency says damage surveys are ongoing and more counties and additional forms of assistance could be allocated later.
