Composite Sketch of Wheaton Jogger’s Attacker
WASHINGTON (CBSDC) - Police have released a composite sketch of a suspect wanted in connection with a first-degree assault that occurred in Wheaton on Tuesday, Sept. 10, and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect.
Police say a 36-year-old female was attacked when she was jogging in the 1700 block of Poplar Run Drive at night. As the victim was passing the suspect on the sidewalk, she was thrown to the ground and struck in the face. The suspect held the victim down on the sidewalk until he heard the victim’s boyfriend, who had been nearby, approaching the area. The suspect then fled on foot.
Police describe the suspect as a Hispanic male in his late 20’s, 5’7” tall, and weighing approximately 165 pounds. He had medium-length, wavy black hair and no facial hair. He was wearing a gray hoodie over a white t-shirt, black basketball shorts and sneakers.
