ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Gov. Martin O’Malley has appointed Delegate Brian Feldman to the state Senate.

The governor announced the appointment on Thursday to fill a vacancy created by the resignation of Sen. Rob Garagiola, who represented District 15 in Montgomery County.

Feldman, a Democrat, has represented Montgomery County in the House of Delegates since 2003.

Feldman has served as a member of the House Economic Matters Committee. He also served as chair of the Montgomery County House Delegation from 2007 to 2012.

Feldman is a tax attorney who has served as senior counsel for Kundra & Associates. He also is an adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins University.
