Father Charged with Shaking Infant Who Died
ELKRIDGE, Md. — Howard County police say an infant who was allegedly shaken by her father has died.
Officers went to the home of 26-year-old Aron James Krampf of Elkridge about 12:45 p.m. Tuesday for a report of an unconscious infant. Police believe Krampf shook the 6-week-old girl to stop her from crying.
Authorities say the infant suffered brain hemorrhaging and fractures throughout her body.
The infant was taken to Johns Hopkins Children’s Hospital in Baltimore.
On Wednesday, police charged Krampf with assault, child abuse and reckless endangerment.
Officers say the infant died Thursday morning.
The case will go before a grand jury later this month.
Krampf is being held on $1 million bond.
