LANDOVER, Md. (CBSDC) –Brandon Meriweather participated in pre-game warms ups, but will be inactive against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Washington Redskins safety, who is battling a groin injury, had officially been listed as questionable on the injury report. Meriweather appeared in just one game in 2012 after a knee sprain in the preseason kept him shelved until a Week 11 home contest against the Philadelphia Eagles. Snake-bitten, the safety tore his ACL in that game and was lost for the duration of the year.

He played in the team’s final preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this year before the injury bug bit again last week in practice.

Reed Doughty will start in his absence.

Also inactive are Rex Grossman and Pat White, leaving the quarterbacking duties to a returning Robert Griffin III and Kirk Cousins, as had been the case for the bulk of 2012.
