D.C. Man Pleads Guilty to Armed Robbery Outside Pizzoli’s Pizzeria
WASHINGTON — A District of Columbia man has pleaded guilty to robbing two men who were eating on the patio outside Pizzoli’s Pizzeria in Logan Circle.
James Edward Wade pleaded guilty Friday in D.C. Superior Court. Prosecutors say the 30-year-old Wade approached the victims around 9:20 p.m. on May 17 and was brandishing what appeared to be a handgun. The victims turned over property, and Wade fled.
Police posted a video of the robbery on YouTube and said Wade’s arrest followed numerous tips from the public.
Wade’s attorney did not immediately respond to a telephone message left Saturday requesting comment. Sentencing is set for Nov. 7.
