WASHINGTON — District of Columbia police have identified a man found stabbed to death inside Rock Creek Park.
Police identified the man Wednesday morning as 49 year-old Matias Molina of northwest Washington. A passerby spotted Molina on Monday evening on the bank of Rock Creek in the woods near Beach Drive and Joyce Road.
His body was taken to the medical examiner’s office for an autopsy. Police say they don’t have any motives or suspects.
Police said at a news conference Tuesday that Molina may have been killed elsewhere, and that he didn’t appear to be a jogger.
Rock Creek Park is not frequently the site of violent crime, and police say they consider the area safe.
