24 Gang Members, Others Face Trafficking Charges

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Two dozen members and associates of a subset of the Bloods street gang have been indicted on an array of racketeering and trafficking charges that put all at risk of a possible life sentence.

Federal prosecutors in Alexandria said Wednesday that the indictments targeted the Nine Tray Gangsters, a local offshoot of the Bloods.

Authorities charge that the gang dealt in drugs, forced prostitution and even counterfeit currency in multiple states, including Virginia, Maryland and North Carolina.

Most of the 24 who were indicted are northern Virginia residents, including Prince William and Fauquier counties.

Eight other gang members and associates were previously indicted in Richmond and pleaded guilty to drug charges.

Gang trafficking has been a top priority of federal prosecutors in the Eastern District of Virginia.
