ALLEN PARK, Mich. (CBSDC/AP) — The Detroit Lions have parted ways with two former Washington Redskins players and have claimed another off waivers.
The Lions say linebacker Rocky McIntosh has been released and safety DeJon Gomes has been claimed off waivers.
McIntosh, who played six seasons for the Redskins before starting nine games for the St. Louis Rams in 2012, signed with Detroit 15 days prior to his release.
Gomes, a 2011 fifth round draft pick, was released by the Redskins on Saturday. He appeared in 30 games with eight starts in the past two seasons.
Former Redskins wide receiver Terrence Austin, who signed a futures contract with Detroit earlier in the year and reportedly had a solid training camp, was also released by the Lions.
